October 9, 2009

I think this is my first update written from inside the clinic.  I am getting an infusion of platelets today.  I got some yesterday, but my count is still so low that they need to give me some more.  I feel completely worn out.  I took a nap yesterday and slept all night last night, but still feel exhausted.  Even though I don’t walk that far each day and do alot of sitting around, there is alot my body is doing inside.  The doctor says my counts should begin to recover next week.  On a better note, Fipp is here for her fall break.  I’ve been spending my time out of the clinic watching movies and reading.  I am almost done with The Coldest Winter.  I still don’t have a picture of Sherman, but I’ll remedy that today when I get home.

  1. Cary-
I look forward to a picture of Sherman.
I’d also like to see a photo of the “kit” that will be attending Sherman’s blossoming. You know, the offical Sherman brush, clippers etc.

  2. Following your blog daily. Coldest Winter, we did not have the proper equipment. Hard to get Mickey Mouse boots, parkas, gloves. Engines had to be started with ether in the carbs, difficult to get explosive charges to work, etc. Since then I have no joy in winter, snow, ice, etc.
Please keep all your notes and copies of blogs. This should be published when you recover. It is a testament to courage.
I spoke with Alex this AM and caught up on news. Keep fighting. Barbara sends best wishes as do I. Ed (PS who is Sherman?.
